- Swimming in open waters boosts the functioning of the nervous system and thermoregulation of the body.

- Frequent swimming in the summer prevents worsening of arthritic pains of the spine and joints that normally arise in winter.

- Sea air with it's high volume of iodine and salt enhances the function of the respiratory system by opening airways.

- Sun light improves blood circulation in the skin and boosts natural immunity, relieves pain, lowers blood pressure and stimulates the endocrine system (increases hormone production), metabolism, and the production of Vitamin D.

- Exposure to sun light should start at 30-60 minutes depending on the season and time of day, gradually increased to 120 minutes over the course of 2 weeks.

- On cloudy days exposing the body to fresh air enhances lung ventilation and the function of the cardiovascular system as well as regulating the nervous system. The effect on these systems is greater with lower temperatures.

- As athletes we spend a lot of time training indoors where facilities are more available, but it is still important to get outside and enjoy life. This creates balance and harmony with our bodies.
